EPON High Speed Internet Access - Fiber
Overview
EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) is an IEEE/EFM standard for packet data combining Ethernet with PON (Passive Optical Network), a point-to-multipoint fiber-optic access network configuration. EPON does not use electricity to split the signal. Instead, the signal is distributed through beam splitters. There are currently over 15 million subscribers with installed Internet EPON ports.
